Tracie Zukowski has announced her intentions to run for a seat on the Johnston County School Board in November 2018.
Zukowski is a National Sales Education Technology executive with MobyMax.
She grew up and resides in Clayton with her husband Greg with their three children. James, 21, is a student at Johnston Community College. Thomas, 15, is a sophomore at Corinth Holders High School and Isabella, 7, is in the second grade at River Dell Elementary School.
Tracie and Greg met in Clayton while she was working on completing her undergraduate education degree from East Carolina University. While working on her degree she also worked for Johnston Schools as a Teacher Assistant at Riverwood Middle School in Clayton.
Upon graduation in 2010, she began working towards her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Special Education Curriculum and Reading Intervention. She received her Master’s degree in 2012 and continued to work as a teacher in Johnson County Schools. She had the pleasure of teaching many students in Johnston County during her seven years in the classroom.
Although she loves teaching and working with children, in 2015 Tracie felt the pull to work with schools on a national level. She began working with MobyMax, speaking with principals and districts across the country. Combining her teaching experience and listening to the needs of many schools, she discovered her desire to become a voice for opportunity.
“Johnston County has always been home for me. I have a vested interest in Johnston County Schools as a mother and former teacher. With the heart of a teacher and the mind of a visionary, I hope to make a positive influence in the lives of our students, teachers and administration and be a for voice for opportunity in growth.”
