Former JoCo Teen Drivers Chairman Recognized

Steve Matthews, the  former chairman of JoCo Teen Drivers, was recognized by Johnston County Commissioners on July 10th.

Matthews was honored for his support and leadership of the group tasked with reducing teen driving accidents and fatalities.

“I appreciate all that you have done for teen drivers,” Matthews told commissioners. “It is very important to me.”

Matthews, a Johnston County resident for the past 25 years, had to resign prior to the end of his term. He is moving to New Hanover County where he recently opened a car lot.  He says he will still frequent the local area where he will maintain car lots he operates Clayton and Goldsboro.

Matthews had previously served on the Johnston County Education Foundation.
