Four people were arrested and charged with methamphetamine making charges following a traffic stop in Sampson County Friday afternoon. Cristal Snow Hammons, 24, of Holly Springs, Timothy Ray Parnell, 27, of Dunn, Dawn Maria Gillespie, 18, of Clinton and Dakota Jeff Sullivan, 21, of Clinton were arrested after a traffic stop on Sunset Avenue in Clinton around 4 p.m.
Officers from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office gained permission to search the vehicle and discovered what Sampson County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Marcus Smith described as a trafficking amount of prescription medication inside the vehicle.
According to the arrest report, Ms. Snow was found to be in possession of 18 dosage units of opium.
“Also located were items consistent with precursor chemicals used to make meth,” Lt. Smith said. “As a result the defendants were charged.”
Ms. Hammons faces one count of trafficking opiates by possession, one count of trafficking opiates by transport, simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to distribute meth precursor chemicals and one count of conspiring to possess or distribute meth precursor chemicals.
Mr. Parnell was charged with two counts of possession to distribute meth precursor chemicals and one count of conspiracy.
Ms. Gillespie was charged with one count of conspiring to possess or distribute meth precursor chemicals and two counts of possession to distribute meth precursor chemicals. Mr. Sullivan faces two counts of possession with intent to distribute meth precursor chemicals, one count of conspiring to possess or distribute meth precursor chemicals and one count of failing to comply with monies.
All four suspects were booked into the Sampson County Detention Center each on a $50,000 secured bond.
