Four Oaks Man Injured In Pine Level Shooting

A Four Oaks man is recovering from a single gunshot wound he suffered while walking near the Pine Level city limits.  The victim said the shooting happened around 7:20pm Saturday on Pine Level-Selma Road in the vicinity of the Crocker Family Cemetery.

The victim said a gold four door passenger car stopped beside of him. The driver then offered him a ride.

The victim, 30 year-old Joseph Lynn Johnson of Highway 301 South, Four Oaks, said as he was getting in the car the driver said, “Give me all you got” and produced a black Glock handgun.  Johnson said he told the gunman he didn’t have any money or valuables at which time he was shot in the leg.

Johnson said he fell to the pavement and the driver sped away.  The vehicle, possibly a Chrysler Sebring, was last seen traveling on Pine Level-Selma Road towards Selma. The driver was described as a black male with three black female passengers.

The victim was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg and an injury to his arm.

Anyone with information about the suspects or suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000.
