The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce has selected Four Oaks Middle teacher Samuel Carter as the February Teacher of the Month. Carter was presented with a certificate of recognition as well as a bag of gifts from many of the Chamber member businesses.

Four Oaks Middle School shared as part of this nomination: Mr. Carter seeks to include all students in band. He searches out funding for his students so they can have the resources they need to participate in band. One way he has done this is by collecting donations from various community businesses. The donations have been used for raffles to raise money for the band program.  Mr. Carter recognizes students’ needs and individually works to ensure students have the skills they need to be successful band students.  Mr. Carter lead the Four Oaks Middle School band in participating in the tree lighting as well as the Four Oaks Christmas parade. He took extensive care to ensure all the band equipment and students were at the events so that they could successfully provide entertainment for the community. Carter seeks to include all students. He has a passion to embed the FOMS band program into the Four Oaks Community. Serving the community through music is important to Mr. Carter.
