Four schools in Johnston County Public Schools have been selected to participate in the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.
The CEP program provides an alternative to household applications for free and reduced price meals for economically disadvantaged students. All students at these sites will be given free breakfast and lunch.
This year Selma Elementary, Selma Middle, South Smithfield Elementary and West Smithfield Elementary were all eligible to participate in the provision, for a minimum of four years.
Johnston County Public Schools School Nutrition Services will be reimbursed by the federal government for all meals served to students, as they do for all other sites in the district.
