Franklin “Frankie” Garner, 70, Retired Police Officer, Town Commissioner

Franklin “Frankie” Garner, passed away at his home in Pine Level today (Monday). Frankie was 70.

Mr. Garner was a retired police officer for the Town of Selma and a retired member of the Pine Level Fire Department. He was a former Pine Level Town Commissioner and served on the town’s recreation department board.   He was a former Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 63 and a member of Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church.

Frankie was the son of the late Tommy Edward and Louise Bryant Garner. His wife, the late Faye Woodard Garner, passed away in July 2017.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-7:00PM, just prior to the service. Burial with Fire Department honors will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Price Cemetery.

Surviving are his sons, Jimmy F. Garner and wife Gina of Pine Level, Thomas Lee Garner of Pine Level; his brother Denny Garner and wife Jean of Snow Hill; grandchildren Trevor Bryant and wife Sarah, Mackenzie Lynn Garner; great grandchild Ellie Garner; and his buddy and caregiver Frederick Sanders.
