Fuel Tanker And Passenger Car Collide

WILSON’S MILLS – The driver of a passenger car escaped serious injury in a collision with a fuel tanker truck.

The accident occurred at the intersection of US 70 and Wilson’s Mills Road, Sunday morning. The tanker driver was not injured.

Wilson’s Mills Police said the fuel tanker was headed eastbound on US 70 and the passenger car was traveling south on Wilson’s Mills Road. Multiple witnesses told police the car failed to stop for a red light. The car crashed into the side of the trailer of the tanker truck, then the trailer wheels ran over the front of the passenger car. The tanker was empty and no fuel was spilled.

Both eastbound lanes were temporarily closed following the 9:00am mishap.

A witness said, “This was God at work,” referring to the survival of the car’s driver.

Wilson’s Mills Police, Wilson’s Mills Fire and Johnston County EMS responded to the collision.

  1. When I first saw the picture I thought no way that person survived. Great to hear the driver did.

  2. God was with the driver of the car but he is unable to stop them from texting and driving. Just glad the driver is going to be ok.

  3. I actually ran into this accident on my way to church yesterday, and had to take a detour. When I saw the car, I immediately thought the worse. I said a prayer for all involved and thought, God is able to do things that I cannot comprehend. This is a classic example. He’s able! So glad to hear the driver of the car was not severely hurt.

  4. This is God just doing another miracle! This sister from my church had just left church early that morning because we had an early Sunday Prayer going on. God is good at all times.
