Full Reliance Wins Grand Championship At Benson Sing

The 95th State Annual Singing Convention in Benson concluded Sunday with the presentation of trophies to the winners in all the categories, as well as the Consolation Cup and the Grand Champion Cup.

Locals Greg Honeycutt and Brent Town from Benson took home the trophy in the duet category; Heart’s Song from Shannon were the best in the trio category; Potter’s Will from Troy took home the best in the mixed trio category; Divine Intervention from Clayton won best in the quartet category; in the mixed

quartet category, Risen Son Quartet from Mocksville took the trophy; Benson locals New Zealand PFWB Church Choir took the choir trophy and the Hinshaw Family from Bahama, took the best in the family category.

The Hinshaw Trio of Bahama won the Consolation Cup. Debbie Hinshaw-Farmer, Sandy and Robin Hinshaw were pleased with Sunday’s win. “We’re really happy,” Ms. Hinsaw-Farmer said. “Very pleased with the outcome.”

The overall winners were the Full Reliance of Raleigh mixed quartet. Mitchell Dixon, Mike Brooks, Debra Vandervort and Mike Spence smiled in front of friends and family as everyone took turns getting pictures of the group holding their trophy. “We’re very blessed and very humbled,” Mr. Spence said. “We’ve won two years in a row now and we’re just thrilled.”
