Fundraiser Planned For Johnston County Little League World Champions

CLAYTON, N.C. – The community will have an opportunity to meet the Johnston County Little League softball team and help raise money for its 2027 season following the team’s Little League Softball World Series championship.

A fundraiser and celebration will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Smithfield’s Chicken ’N Bar-B-Q, located at 10414 Clayton Boulevard (US 70) in Clayton.

Customers who mention “JoCo” when checking out will have 30 percent of their sale donated back to the team for its 2027 season.

Members of the championship team will be on hand, giving local residents an opportunity to meet the players and celebrate their World Series victory.

Mike Wheless of the 94.7 WQDR Morning Show is also scheduled to attend and will have station merchandise to give away.

The Johnston County team captured the 2026 Little League Softball World Series championship, bringing home a world title and prompting celebrations throughout the county.
