Four Oaks Police will hold a fundraiser Sat. March 16th to help them purchase a new K-9.  Police Chief Stephen Anderson said $5,000 has been raised towards the $25,000 cost of purchasing and training a new K-9.   The department has never had their own K-9.

To help raise money, the police department is partnering with Restaurante El Sol on Saturday, March 16th from 11:00am until 9:00pm.  25 percent of all food sales will be donated towards the cost of K-9 Dome.

The restaurant is located at 5833 US Highway 301 South in Four Oaks.

Police are working with the Never Forget 9-11 Foundation to raise funds for the K-9 purchase.  You can mail checks to Never Forget 9-11 Foundation, 435 Stephenson Road, Benson, NC 27504.   The mission of Never Forget 9-11 is to keep the memory of September 11, 2001 relevant, to educate future generations about the tragedy and to provide support, equipment and a rewarding experience to those who protect and serve us and our communities.

In addition, a benefit golf tournament will also be held on Monday, April 8th at the Reedy Creek Golf Course near Four Oaks. All proceeds will benefit the police department fundraising efforts.
