The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a residential break-in where thieves took some unusual items.
On July 11th, a resident on Bentonville Road in the Bentonville community outside of Four Oaks reported that between 12:00 Noon and 3:15pm someone broke into her home and stole a funeral home visitation book and 3 copies of death certificates belonging to their relative. A wood box valued at $15 and some coins in the box were also taken.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said deputies found evidence where the rear door to the home was pried open.
