Fuquay Man Killed In Shooting

A 18 year-old man is dead following a shooting in Harnett County.

Harnett County deputies received a call at 11:14pm Tuesday reporting a shooting on Caley Drive outside of Fuquay Varina.

The victim, Deonta Lamont Ellerbee of Rollins Road, Fuquay Varina was rushed to Wake Medical Center but died a short time later.

Major Jeff Huber said a suspect in the case has been identified and the case remains under investigation. Authorities would not release the suspects name but said the victim and suspect did know one another.
