Johnston County Public Utilities will be constructing a new wastewater plant beginning in 2020 on County Home Road just off Highway 210 and adjacent to the Landfill.
Public Utilities Director Chandra C. Farmer said the new 4 million gallon per day treatment facility is important to meet growing demands.
Farmer asked Johnston County Commissioners to formally name the new plant the “210 Wastewater Treatment Facility” prior to the department filing paperwork for permitting and final design.
Commissioners unanimously approved the naming request.
