An All Star Waste garbage truck overturned Thursday morning after reportedly swerving to avoid another vehicle. The driver was briefly trapped in the cab of the truck until being extricated through the front windshield by Cleveland firefighters. The driver was transported by ambulance to Wake Medical Center.
The accident occurred in the 4600 block of Raleigh Road near Sonny Road. Raleigh Road was closed in both directions for one hour. The truck’s contents did not spill.
The NC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
