The Garner Police Department is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred Thursday night at the Westchester Apartments at 905 7th Avenue.
The 27-year-old victim reported that she returned home to her first-floor apartment around 10:30 p.m. Upon entering the apartment, she was confronted by an unknown male who then sexually assaulted her. The victim was injured in the incident and received medical treatment for those injuries.
Investigators have been canvassing the apartment complex today (Friday) to see if anyone saw anything that could help identify a suspect in this case.
Garner Police are asking if anyone saw anything suspicious between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7th at the Westchester Apartments to contact the Garner Police Department. So far, the only suspect description is a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall.
