In the wake of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Florence, the Town of Garner’s Public Works Department has formulated a plan for curbside storm debris collection. Public Works will provide a special storm debris/yard waste collection starting on Monday, Oct. 8 in lieu of the annual fall unprepared yard waste pickup slated to begin later in October.
All Garner residents should have their unprepared storm debris and yard waste curbside by October 8th. Crews will provide service as soon as they are able to. Residents should expect the process to take a couple of weeks. Crews plan to make one pass through each neighborhood/area. This special pickup is for unprepared storm debris and yard waste only.
Residents also have the option of putting out storm debris and other yard waste curbside for their regular weekly collection, but they need to prepare that waste in accordance with the town rules.
