GoFundMe Page Established For Johnston County Family Who Lost Home While On Vacation

A GoFundMe page has been set up by friends and neighbors of a Johnston County family whose home was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning.

Around 2:30am, the fire was reported on Nell Court in Johnson’s Pond subdivision off Cornwallis Road.

Firefighters from Cleveland, Clayton and Garner rushed to the scene to find the two story home fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were credited with saving several neighbors homes from catching on fire. The adjacent homes sustained only heat damage.

According to neighbors, the Myer family was on vacation at the beach when their house burned down.

The Johnston County Fire Marshal and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to investigate. No injuries were reported.
