Goldsboro Police Issue Safety Alert After Reports Of Man Approaching Children
GOLDSBORO — Police are asking parents to talk with their children after receiving reports of a man approaching juveniles who were walking to school.
The Goldsboro Police Department said an adult male has reportedly been driving in areas where students walk to school and attempting to engage juveniles in conversation.
According to police, the man has allegedly tried to persuade juveniles to get into his vehicle.
Police did not release a description of the man or vehicle in the notice.
The department is encouraging parents and guardians to remind children to remain alert, avoid conversations with unfamiliar individuals who approach them in this manner, never enter a stranger’s vehicle and immediately report suspicious activity to a trusted adult.
Anyone who believes they may have seen or interacted with the individual is asked to contact Investigator C. Howell at 919-580-4206.
Goldsboro Police also encouraged residents to remain aware of their surroundings and share the safety information with other families.
