Alex Gonzalez made school history this past weekend at the State Wrestling Tournament by becoming the first medalist in the brief history of the Neuse Charter Wrestling Program.
Gonzalez placed fourth in the 138 pound 1-A weight class. Gonzalez went 2-2 on the weekend and faced the Conference Champion from Rosewood Luis Tortual in the 3rd place match, eventually falling to Tortual by points 7-3. Alex finished the year with a 46-18 record.
Gonzalez is the son of Amanda and Amulfo Gonzalez of Wilson Mills.
