Gonzalez celebrated this milestone on his home mat on Dec. 9th pinning Grant Ray of Northwood in 26 seconds.

When asked about his accomplishment Gonzalez said, “This was a dream come true for me personally, not only being the first in Neuse Charter’s School History to get 100 wins, but also being able to do it on my home mat is something that I will never forget.   I have the best coaches, teammates, and supporters in the world and I thank God for them daily.”

Gonzalez is also Neuse Charters only career State Placer has now set his eyes to becoming the school’s first State Champion.

“I am blessed to be able to work with all these kids,” said Coach Chase Crocker. “Alex is a prime example of an individual who has goals and works tremendously hard to accomplish those goals.  He told me of a vision he had almost one year ago to the date of this accomplishment that he saw himself winning his 100th match on his home mat and he did just that.”
