Governor Roy Cooper made a special visit to Smithfield Thursday afternoon to thank Johnston County Department of Transportation workers and State Highway Patrol troopers for their hard work responding to the winter storm event this week.
Cooper greeted highway crews and troopers at the DOT Johnston County Maintenance Yard on Highway 70 West near Smithfield.
