A long-awaited event that Benson officials hope will be the start of an economic upswing is set to take place later this month.
Officials from the Leath Company and the Town of Benson will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 26th at 10 a.m.
The event takes place across the street from Lee Furniture at the site of the future multi-million dollar Hampton Inn and Suites.
The project has been in the works since last year and will be the first of what town officials hope to be many more new businesses start along Interstate 95.
The day will begin with a reception at Char Grill, 105 S. Wall St. at 9:30 a.m. followed by the shovel ceremony. Courtesy The Daily Record
