Members of the Clayton Town Council recognized the Psi Sigma Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority during their monthly meeting held Monday night.
Officials thanked the local chapter for participating in a national Playground Mobilization Day, held May 21st, at All Star Park and Pavilion on Front Street in Downtown Clayton.
The Town provided the materials to clean and beautify the neighborhood park, and the members donated their time and labor to make improvements and to enhance the appearance of the park.
The group recently participated in the Divine Nine Legislative Day with Gov. Pat McCrory in Raleigh.
The members of Psi Sigma Omega say they are committed to enriching lives through education, health, strengthening the family, the environment, and having an impact globally.
