A motorist says a gunman shot at her car while at a rural Johnston County intersection then began chasing after her. It happened Sunday night outside of Princeton.
Around 11:30pm, the 21 year-old Selma woman said she had stopped for a stop sign on Rains Crossroads Road at Bizzell Grove Church Road. That’s when she said a gold SUV pulled up and a masked man pointed a gun at her. As she began to speed away, she told authorities the suspect fired a gun at her car striking her bumper.
The suspects began chasing her. Eventually after she reached US 70, she lost sight of the suspects. She told deputies there were three men wearing masks inside the vehicle.
Deputies said they found damage to the victims bumper consistent with a projectile. The victim was not harmed.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
