Five guns were stolen from a home during a weekend residential break-in.
A 52 year-old man reported that while he was at work someone broke into his home on Harper House Road near the Johnston-Sampson County line and stolen five guns from a locked gun safe. Johnston County deputies said the suspect forcibly entered the victim’s home then pried open the gun safe.
A Winchester rifle, 12 gauge shotgun, 9mm Taurus handgun, 44 caliber Smith and Wesson, and a revolver were stolen. The guns were valued at $2,100.
The break-in occurred between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm Saturday.
