A Johnston County woman escaped injury Monday night after a gunshot was fired into her home.
Around 10:07pm, the 39 year-old woman was in the bedroom of her home on Eaglewood Drive off Highway 222 near Whitley Road when a bullet pierced the wall of her home and entered her bedroom. The victim was not harmed.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene but could not locate where the bullet was fired from. Authorities said it appears the gun was fired a long distance away from the victim’s residence and it doesn’t appear to have been an intentional act.
The case remains under investigation.
