Habitat ReStore In Clayton Reopens Nov. 9 In New, Larger Location

CLAYTON – Habitat for Humanity’s Clayton ReStore will reopen its doors to the public in a new building on Saturday, Nov. 9. The new location on Highway 42 West is 16,000 square feet larger than the former location on Highway 70 and will allow for the sale of a wider range of inventory, including building supplies and new cabinets and flooring.

This added space and wider selection of inventory will allow the store to generate more money to fund Habitat’s mission to build affordable homes in the community. The Grand Opening event will include food, prizes and a chance to shop a great selection of new and gently used furniture, décor, flooring, cabinets and more.

“We are thrilled to be able to expand the Clayton ReStore and bring more shopping, donating and volunteering opportunities to Johnston County,” said Patricia Burch, Habitat Wake CEO. “The Johnston County community has been supportive of our work and we’re excited to grow our presence here.”

Habitat opened the first Johnston County ReStore in June 2018, with the store on Highway Business 70. Earlier that year, Habitat Wake and Habitat Johnston had become one organization as part of an effort to bring more resources and support to Johnston County. The Clayton ReStore became the eighth ReStore that Habitat managed in the Triangle at the time and was welcomed warmly by the Johnston County community.

Since then, Habitat volunteers have helped construct 11 new homes in addition to the 18 existing Habitat homes already in Johnston County. A 15-home community is currently underway in Clayton.

Johnston County residents can shop, donate or volunteer at the ReStore by visiting trianglerestore.org. Free pick up is available for large, qualifying items.
