CLAYTON – Planning Consultant Dick Hails will be joining the Town of Clayton staff in a regular, part-time capacity as Interim Planning Director beginning today (March 24).
Hails has more than 30 years of local planning experience in North Carolina and is a former president and leader of the N.C. Chapter of the American Planning Association.
“Dick provides a wealth of planning experience and leadership in central and eastern North Carolina,” said Clayton Town Manager J.D. Solomon. “He will be a valuable resource to our staff and community.”
Hails is a former Interim Director for the Durham City-County Planning Department and a former Planning Director at the City of Greensboro.
“We would like to say we can cover it all, but new development and redevelopment continue to boom here,” said Jeff Caines, Town of Clayton Senior Planner. “Dick Hails will provide some good perspectives and support.”
Hails is 1974 graduate of Stanford University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies/Affairs.
