Hardee’s Restaurant Robbed, Manager Forced Into Cooler

The manager of a local Hardee’s was held at gunpoint and forced into a cooler during a robbery. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the robbery happened this morning (Wednesday) at the Hardee’s at 11959 Highway 210, Benson near the I-40 intersection.

The manager arrived at work at 3:10AM. As she walked towards the front door she was approached by a black male armed with a handgun.  The suspect had his face covered and he was wearing gloves.  The gunman forced the employee to open the entrance door and turn off the alarm system. The robber then took an undisclosed amount of money from the safe.  He then forced the victim into a cooler before he fled on foot.

Deputies responded with a K-9 unit which tracked the suspect to a nearby location where they believe a getaway vehicle had been parked.

The employee was not harmed.
