Hardy Sworn In To Four Oaks Town Board

A new councilmember to his seat on the Four Oaks Town Board Monday night.

Andrew “Andy” Hardy was sworn in by District Court Judge Joy Jones during a special Oath of Office Ceremony during the monthly meeting of the town board.

Hardy was joined by his wife, Donnie, and his son, Ryan, as the oath was administered.  He will fill out the unexpired term of former Commissioner Sandy Lee who died in April. Lee had won reelection in November 2015. Hardy will serve out the remainder of his term which expires in November 2019.

After being given the oath, Hardy acknowledged the 28 years of service of former commissioner Lee. He said he hopes to serve with the same dedication as Commissioner Lee and looked forward to serving the citizens of Four Oaks.

Hardy said wants to help the Town grow while at the same time keep the “small town feel” that attracts people to Four Oaks.  He was selected in July out of 5 residents who had expressed interest in the position.

Hardy is a Certified Public Accountant and the Chief Financial Officer at South River Electric Corporation in Dunn, has lived in Four Oaks 18 years.  A volunteer on the fire department for the last 5 years, Hardy is also active in the Civitans and said it is important to give back to the community.
