Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Releases Statement On Gun Permits

On Tuesday, November 10th, the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office suspended all fingerprinting services until November 23rd.   This includes concealed carry applications and employment fingerprints.

Effective immediately, the processing of gun purchase permits and concealed carry permits will be limited.  The lobby access will revert to citizens being assisted at the door and not entering the lobby. We are making every attempt to contact those who have appointments until November 23rd to advise them of the cancellations.   We are making every effort possible to reschedule these appointments as soon as possible after November 23rdf

These changes are the result of several of our staff testing positive for COVID-19 and other staff be quarantined.   Because of the precautions used during the fingerprinting and issuing permits we had in place, citizens who have had contact with our staff in the past week should not be affected.

We are following the guidelines from the Harnett County Health Department.

This is an unfortunate situation, but please bear with us as we attempt to provide services to the citizens of Harnett County while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our staff and citizens. If you have any questions or concerns, you may call 910-893-9111.
