Other districts also starting virtually
The Harnett County Schools Board of Education voted to keep students in remote, virtual-only classes through Jan. 19.
The board made the decision at its Monday night meeting.
The move came as COVID-19 cases continue to climb in the area.
Johnston County Schools remain virtual-only through Jan. 15.
The board of education, there, decided in December to keep all students in e-learning between Dec. 14 and Jan. 15 due to rising COVID-19 cases.
“Unless the remote learning period is extended beyond January 15th, students will return to the plan that they chose on the Second Semester Choice form on Tuesday, January 19,” district leaders said in a recent release.
Sampson County Schools is also on remote-only education (Plan C) through at least Jan. 8. A decision of whether or not to extend Plan C, there, is expected before then.
