Results remain the same as election day
The Harnett County Board of Elections completed a recount of ballots cast in the Harnett County Board of Commissioners District 3 Republican primary and nothing has changed.
Tuesday’s recount saw Assistant School Superintendent Brooks Matthews named the winner, according to elections director Claire Jones.
Matthews finished with a total of 1,217 votes (50.29%) compared to Penny’s tally of 1,203 (49.71%). Jones said the recount confirmed the vote totals without question.
“The recount totals matched the election day totals exactly,” she said. “There was no variations or discrepancies.”
