Harnett Health Cancer Center Moves To New Home

Grand opening celebration Sunday

A local cancer treatment center, formerly housed at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, will celebrate its new home in Lillington with a grand opening Sunday.

The Harnett Health Cancer Center at Central Harnett officially moved in July from its old home at Betsy Johnson Hospital. An “increased community demand for cancer treatment and the necessity for its own space” spurred the move, according to a release from Harnett Health.

The new Harnett Health Cancer Center at Central Harnett will host its grand opening on Sunday with tours of the new center and a brunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The buffet will be served for $12.95 for adults and $6.95 for kids 12 and younger.

“Over the past year the demand for oncology care in Harnett County has increased substantially. Previously, the closest available oncology services were either in Fayetteville or Raleigh and Cary.

The Cancer Center at Central Harnett was originally ran in an office on Tilghman Drive in Dunn and then moved across the street to the third floor of Betsy Johnson Hospital in the summer of 2018,” said Mike Jones, vice president of Harnett Health.

“Moving the Cancer Center to Central Harnett allows more space for patients for treatment as well as space for more staff to take care of patients,” Jones said.

Tours of the Cardiac Cath Lab will be available to the public as well as tours of the Cancer Center at Central Harnett.
