Harold Pittman, 71, Selma

Harold H. Pittman passed away Sunday at his home near Selma. He was 71. Harold was a retired professional CLU and Financial Planner and retired from Life of Virginia.

A 1964 graduate of Micro High School, he also graduated from East Carolina University and was a business partner in Pizza Inn of Rocky Mount.

His greatest passion was to serve the Lord and feed his little sheep. He is a member of Old Beulah Primitive Baptist Church where he served as deacon and clerk, and as an Elder for most of his life. He also served as Elder to Scott’s Primitive Baptist, White Oak Primitive Baptist and Rocky Swamp Primitive Baptist Churches.

He was born October 10, 1945 to the late Julius and Carrie Lee Pittman and was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Braxton and Odell Pittman.

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma Tuesday, Sept. 6th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest in the Pittman Cemetery beside his loving wife Sylvia.

Surviving are his sister Joyce and brother-in-law Wayne Lamm; his brother Donald and sister-in-law Diane Pittman; niece Tina Hooks and husband Joey, nephew Mark Pittman and four great nephews Matthew, Josh, Bryce and Cale.
