The Johnston County Republican Party has named Patrick Harris as the new County Chairman. Harris had been the former Vice Chairman of the party.
Harris replaces Tom Goffe who stepped down from the County Chair position due to health concerns.
Denise Rentz was named Vice Chairman of the party.
“I accept this challenge and believe that we have a great team in place to carry our party into the future,” Harris said. “Denise Rentz is an extremely capable and knowledgeable individual and I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with her as our Vice Chair.”
“I look forward to serving as your Chairman of the Johnston County Republican Party and consider it a great honor to be associated with this outstanding group of conservatives,” Harris said.
Harris retired in June 2015 as the Chief of the Smithfield Fire Department. This Fall he received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, NC’s highest civilian honor.
Harris and his wife Victoria are the owners of Smithfield Crossings Family Healthcare and Urgent Care of Smithfield.
