On Friday, Congressman David Rouzer (NC-07) announced the appointment of Trent Tetterton, a Clayton resident and senior at Corinth Holders High School, to the U.S. Naval Academy. Tetterton was nominated to the U.S. Naval Academy by Congressman Rouzer in the fall and just now received news of his appointment to the Academy.

“The preparation that goes into applying to a service academy takes a tremendous amount of commitment and dedication,” Rouzer said. “Trent Tetterton has demonstrated these qualities throughout this rigorous nomination process.  Trent’s involvement and participation both inside and outside of the classroom make him well-deserving of this honor.  As a student at Corinth Holders High School in Wendell, Trent is lettered in Soccer, Swimming/Diving, Tennis, and Track and Field.  He also serves as the Senior Class Secretary.”

“Trent’s accomplishments are a testament to his hard work, perseverance and patriotic pride,” Congressman Rouzer stated. “I’m very proud that he has earned an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy, and I know he will serve our country well.”

In addition to serving in student government and playing sports at Holders, Tetterton was awarded the Gold Medal at the North Carolina Science Olympiad regional competition.  Trent is a member of National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society.
