Highway 42 Accident Causes Traffic Delays

CLAYTON – A collision between a car and pickup truck caused traffic delays Friday afternoon on Highway 42 West of Clayton about a mile from the intersection of US 70 Bypass.

The driver of a Toyota Camry was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic was heavily backed up. At one time, the westbound lane was backed up for a mile before the scene was cleared.

The Clayton Fire Department, Johnston County EMS and State Highway Patrol responded.
