SELMA – A Sunday evening crash on NC Highway 42 East near Lynch Road, sent two people to Wake Med with injuries. The accident occurred around 8:30pm involving a pickup and minivan.
Reports indicate the driver of a white Dodge pickup crossed the centerline and sideswiped an oncoming minivan. The driver of the van sustained serious injuries. The passenger was also hurt.
The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured. They were charged by state troopers with driving while impaired.
Highway 42 was briefly shutdown until the scene could be cleared.
Johnston County EMS, Thanksgiving Fire Department, and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
