Highway 96 Reopens Following Serious Collision

FOUR OAKS –  Highway 96 South was closed Friday afternoon following a serious traffic accident at the intersection of Heath Road.   The collision occurred around 2:30pm and involved two passengers cars and a minivan.

Four Oaks firefighters extricated occupants from both passenger cars.  One driver was trapped for approximately 20 minutes before being cut free. A total of four people were injured, one critically.

Four Oaks EMS and Johnston County EMS transported the injured to area hospitals.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.   The roadway has now reopened.
