Victim Injured During Home Invasion

WILSON’S MILLS – Police are searching for two armed, masked men wanted for an early morning home invasion and robbery.

Wilson’s Mills Police said it happened around 1:45am today (Wednesday) in the 100 block of Maple Tree Lane.

The victim told police that he and his girlfriend were asleep on the couch in the living room when they heard a loud boom. Two armed men wearing masks and dressed in black clothing forced entry through the front door.

One of the assailants asked the homeowner for money. When he replied he “did not have any” the assailant hit him on the forehead with the firearm causing a deep laceration. The second assailant pointed a firearm at the homeowner’s girlfriend demanding she take him upstairs to retrieve some unknown items.

Both suspects left shortly thereafter without taking anything, according to the homeowner.

Police Chief A.Z. Williams said the incident is being investigated as a home invasion.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and a Smithfield Police K-9 unit responded and assisted.

  1. Way too close for comfort. Catch these guys before they do it again…or not, we can handle them.

  2. They left without taking anything? Sure. They took drugs. Yes, random home invasions do happen, but VERY rarely. Two armed intruders didn’t pick a random house and leave without taking a single item. Highly doubt the general public is in danger here.
