Homicide Investigation Underway After Body Is Found In Vehicle
BENSON – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide on Holley Grove Road near Godwin Lake Road in the Meadow community, outside of Benson.
Around 2:00am Sunday, a Johnston County state trooper reportedly found a car adjacent to a building with a deceased person in the vehicle.
Unconfirmed reports indicate the victim suffered a gunshot wound. It is unknown if there was a motor vehicle accident.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death, which they confirmed is being treated as a homicide.
No additional information has been released, including the name of the person who died.

There was a large police presence last night down the same road ( around the intersection of Holly Grove Rd and Denn-Field Ln) where people are saying a second body was found. Is there any update?
