The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after what appears to be human bones were found in the yard of a Dunn-area residence.
Sheriff Wayne Coats said the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a call at 9:30pm Tuesday for a well-being check of an individual on Monroe Lane off Highway 421 near Dunn.
Upon their arrival, sheriff’s deputies located possible human bones outside the residence. Investigators arrived on the scene a short time later to investigate the death.
The investigation was put on hold until Wednesday morning due to the darkness. Investigators said today there is no indication that foul play is involved.
In a press release, Sheriff Coats said more information would be released as soon as possible.
