A federal grand jury in Raleigh has returned an indictment against Juan Chavez-Morales, 42, of Mexico for illegal reentry of a deported alien.
Chavez-Morales was previously deported three times. He was found in Johnston County and arrested. The date and location of his arrest was not released.
If convicted of illegal reentry of a deported alien, he could face a maximum penalty of 2 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
The case is being investigated by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and the United States Marshals Service.
