Several people were injured in a head on collision this afternoon in southern Johnston County.
The crash happened around 4:30pm on Dragstrip Road near McLamb Road off Highway 242 South and just a short distance from the Harnett County line.
Two pickup trucks collided head on causing one truck to overturn. Five EMS ambulances were dispatched to the scene. It took about 30 minutes to extricate the occupants from the overturned truck. Crews from the Meadow Fire Department had to remove the roof from the truck.
There was no immediate word on the condition of the accident victims or what caused the crash.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating.
