Two inmates in the Johnston County Jail are facing new charges.
Detention officers searched the inmates cell on Monday and reportedly found a quantity of prescription pills.
Jennifer Erin Marks, 32, of Jacksonville, NC and April Dawn Canady, 36, of Brogden Road, Smithfield were charged by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office with felony possession of a controlled substance on a prison or jail premises.
Marks had been arrested on Sunday by Kenly Police on a misdemeanor charge. Canady had been charged Monday with probation violation.
