During a special called meeting, the Four Oaks Town Board unanimously approved the selection of Martha Garris as interim town clerk. Former town clerk Sherry Hudson retired on August 22nd.
Garris is a Four Oaks native. She received a degree in accounting from Mt. Olive College and had worked for 18-1/2 years with Four Oaks Bank.
“I’m just glad to be here and help out in any capacity that I can,” Garris told WTSB after she appointed by the board Aug. 27th.
The Town is currently advertising for a permanently replacement for Hudson. A selection is expected as early as October.
