JCS Cabinet Members Receive Contract Extensions

Following a closed session Tuesday night, the Johnston County School Board voted to extend the contract of all four members of the Cabinet along with three other school officials.

The Board voted to extend the contracts of Deputy Superintendent Paula Coates, Chief of Operations and Communication Dolores Gill, Chief of Equity Crystal Roberts, and Chief of Human Resources and Financial Services Brian Vetrano. Their contracts were extended from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

Sonya Grice is currently serving as Principal at Meadow School. She was named JCS Benefits Director effective July 1, 2020. She received a two year contract. Grice is replacing Rick Johnson who retired as Benefits Director.

Jake McAllister who previously served as an assistant principal will replace Chad Holloman at North Johnston High School. McAllister was given a two year contract.

Mr. Holloman was given a two year contract as Director of Transportation effective March 11, 2020. He is replacing Sherrie Turnage who retired.

The only salary increase was for Mr. Holloman who is transitioning from a 10 month assistant principal to a 12 month director.  His salary will increase from $57,726.90 to $71,316.  Turnage had been paid $74,580 as transportation director before her retirement.
