JCSO: Argument At Christmas Party Leads To Road Rage

An argument that began at a Christmas Party spilled onto the interstate and resulted in a road rage incident in Johnston County.

WTSB News has learned a 44 year-old Columbus County woman was attending a Christmas party Friday night in the local area with her boyfriend when the two began arguing.  The woman reportedly refused to go to a second party with her boyfriend and left to drive back home.

Authorities said the boyfriend called the woman on her cell phone minutes later and allegedly threatened to kill her. The woman said the man came up behind her while driving on Interstate 40 near McGee’s Crossroads and intentionally rammed into the back bumper of her car five times.

The victim called 911 and met deputies at the I-40 Rest Area near Benson. The suspect could not be located. The woman was not injured but her car sustained about $1,000 in damage.

The incident remains under investigation.
